The Love Triangle: An Ending?

The love triangle I mention above is that between Archie, Veronica and Betty. The 68 year old love triangle is going to end on 1st September ’09 with Archie choosing one of the two.

Now, the teasers suggest that he chooses Veronica…. I was quite surprised at his choice but what can you say?

Veronica is like the forbidden fruit for Archie. He just wants to devour it. On the other hand, Betty has always been the back up for Archie. A safety net if you say. Whenever Archie was turned down by Ronnie, he runs back to Betty. Betty has always been taken for granted by Archie. She is the typical girl next door while Ronnie is the diva. Ronnie is the girl who every guy in Riverdale wants except for Jughead but due to some weird reason unknown to mankind on the whole, she wants Archie.

The reason there can be that Betty really likes Archie. Now, as we all know Ronnie and Betty are best friends. My theory is that Ronnie is just interested in Archie because she can’t stand losing a guy to Betty who is a polar opposite of her. And to add that there’s always the competitive streak between friends but these two have taken it to another level.

As far as Archie is concerned, it is really good for his male ego that a girl who’s wanted by the whole town is willing to go out with a guy like him.

After saying all this, I think or rather I believe that there’s going to be a twist in the tale. It can’t be that simple.

Jughead has to play some role for that to happen. Maybe Reggie and Jughead will keep their differences aside and team up and make “CARROT TOP” to change his mind.

If you look at it from another point of view, maybe recession might be the reason for this.
Archie will obviously want money and loads of it if you ask me because he keeps on breaking stuff.

Well, let’s just wait till 1st of September to know who the clumsy Archie Andrews ends up with – the super rich Veronica Lodge or the sweet girl next door Betty Cooper…..

P.S: I would also like to wish my dear friends Nips n Liana all the very best for the future as both of them pursue higher studies (MS and MBA respectively)….

P.P.S: Real Madrid paid 80 Million Pounds for Cristiano Ronaldo and 67.5 Million euros for Kaka’….. how much money do they have..??

P.P.P.S: King Roger finally conquered Roland Garros….YAY!!

P.P.P.P.S: Sorry, just wanted to say take care guys….

IPL Fantasy Team

Well, the IPL is surely heating up…. I was hoping that Mumbai Indians will at least make semis but that didn’t happen.. But watching the owners of IPL teams praying for their respective teams and jumping up and down at every given opportunity made me think “What if I owned an IPL franchise?”, “Which players will I select for my team?” and various other things. Now buying an IPL team will be a costly affair. So I decided to buy an IPL team in partnership with Liana and Nisha..2 of my very good friends..

This is what we decided: In a role reversal of sorts, the players will be selected by the girls and I will take care of everything apart from that. So here’s the girl’s wish list for our IPL team:

1) Shane Watson: The Aussie All-rounder was the joint first pick. He was deemed to be really cute by the girls. No matter that he’s injured most of the time but I think that would work out really well for Liana. You see, there will be a clause in his contract that will make it mandatory for him to go out with Liana, so if he is injured all the time, he will have more time to spend with her. So Cheers, Liana, this one’s for you.

2) Brett Lee: The Aussie makes it to the team as a joint first pick. He bowls quick and bats well low down the order but what made him as a joint first pick were his “cute” looks as Nisha puts it. Now his contract will have a clause which will make necessary for him to go out with Nisha. So Cheers, Nisha, this one’s for you.

3) Irfan Pathan: Though he can’t swing the ball anymore and can’t bat as he used to, but the all-rounder has what it takes to make it to the team-his looks. I have no idea whether he’s cute or not, but as far as cricketing skills go his brother would have been a better pick.

4) M.S.Dhoni: Captain Cool will captain our champion side. The guy from Ranchi born with a calm head, lucky stars and “good look” will be an asset to our team.

5) Ricky Ponting: Now I don’t like Ricky Ponting for various reasons( The innings he played against India in World Cup 2003 finals still hurts ), but Liana was adamant on having him in the team so I think he ranks high on the “cuteness” scale.

6) Daniel Vettori: The NZ skipper will also be on our payrolls. Now the girls find him cute but manan finds his glasses awesome. Maybe he has a thing for his glasses.. who knows?! So Cheers, Manan, this one’s for you.

7) Brendon McCullum: Now you might say “why two keepers in the same team?”….but come on….according to the girls “he got awesome tattoos”….well I suppose that’s reason enough for his selection apart from the fact that he’s one of the most destructive batsmen around.

8) Abhishek Nayar/Venugopal Rao=Abhishek Venugopal Rao: Now, we will have both of them as there names combined comes to Abhishek Venugopal Rao. I personally have no idea why we need such players but Nish as I call Nisha insisted no no I mean demanded on having a player called Abhishek Venugopal Rao Kalapatapu ( couldn’t find any players with name Kalapatapu)…. So here they are.

9) Sunny Singh: Now this guy is the lucky mascot according to the girls & we will require all the luck….so he will be drafted in our team.

10) Adam Gilchrist: Now Adam Gilchrist may be old but he will be the backup keeper in case MSD and McCullum get injured at the same time.

11) Yuvraj Singh: The man from Punjab will also make our team for his looks and attitude…( but if attitude was a criteria, we should have gone for Virat Kohli ).

12) A.B.DeVilliers: Now, this South African will also be in our team for his consistency in his good looks…..& of course his fielding.

13) Zaheer Khan: He’s really good looking according to the girls. No matter if he’s one of the best bowlers around..

14) S.K.Raina: Raina was decided to be drafted in after a lot of debate….He’s a class act but was he cute enough to make it to the team….After hours of debate he was deemed just cute enough to make it to the team.

15) Rohit Sharma: The right-hander from Mumbai will also be there….. I have no idea how the girls decided on getting him on the team.

16) R.P.Singh: The UP speedster(????) also makes the cut because of his “dimpled” smile…..really?!

17) Shaun Marsh: Now this Aussie was a late add-on as the girls had forgotten that he also plays cricket apart from being cute and injured.

Now, these players are to play on the field but like a recent ad suggested you need people “darane ke liye” the opposition….so we thought why to take a chance? So the following players make the team for “Darane ke liye”

18) Matthew Hayden: Haydos might have retired but he still sends chills down the bowler’s spine as no one matches him for size.

19) Andrew Symmonds: Need I say anything?!

20) Virender Sehwag: I don’t why….the girls wanted him in this category.

21) Jacques Kallis: Again…Need I say anything?!
And the last player of the squad is:

22) Sachin Tendulkar: Now the way he has being captaining MI, he will be our off-field captain. Whatever he decides to do we will do the exact opposite. If nothing else this will make sure that we will win.

Now moving on to the coaching staff, the following were short-listed:

1) Sourav Ganguly: The girls really dig him… so he will be hired as the batting coach and possibly as the backup fitness coach.

2) Shaun Pollock: He will be the bowling coach.

3) Glenn McGrath: He will share the bowling coach duties with Shaun Pollock.

4) Jonty Rhodes: He will be the fielding coach. The girls find him ok but according to Mark “even guys find him cute”. So Cheers, Mark, this one’s for you.

5) Rahul Dravid: This was the only selection for the team which I decided on my own. Rahul Dravid will be the head coach no matter what!

Now apart from all this we will have the following attractions:

1) Shah Rukh Khan: SRK will handle all our promotions. He will build a brand out of our team.

2) Mark Fernandes: He will in charge of handling the media. Just a word of caution to the media “Don’t piss Mark off, he will curse the shit out of you or worse pull out the chair”

3) Manan Shah: He will be the doorman cum gym instructor.

4) Santosh SaiVenkat: He will be teaching grooming to all the players so that the players represent our team in the proper way (in short, he will be teaching “how to hit on girls”).

5) Abhishek Kalapatapu: He will be the Cheerleading Coach. He will be assisted by Sreesanth.

6) Arvind Bhaskaran: He will be in charge of the finance and for screening all the press releases so that no gossip is circulated about our team. He will have many other responsibilities which I am sure he will be “distributing” among his resources.

7) Katrina Kaif: She will be the Indian face for our team.

8) Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Anniston, Drew Barymore, Emma Watson: These girls will cheer our team from the VIP box along with me….

9) Green Day: Green Day will compose our team song. And will also play in the stadium on the eve of every match featuring our team.

So what do you think?! Your feedback would be appreciated.

IPL Season 2 n MORE

I know I haven’t updated the blog for quite some time…..was busy with various things…. Anyways it’s back…..The Indian Premier League for Season 2. This time around The INDIAN Premier League is held in South Africa which incidentally is holding its own elections on this Wednesday…. But what a start to the tournament….Mumbai Indians (the team I am supporting) beating the Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore (shouldn’t it be Bengaluru?) beating the other Royals The Rajasthan Royals (in fact dismissing them for the lowest total in the IPL till date…..Take That Manan)..

IPL season 1 was all about players coming and hitting the hapless bowlers all over the cricket field…..but Season 2 seems to be more balanced with bowlers taking the game to the batters at least on the first day….The pitches in South Africa have bounce in them and the ball does something under the lights….the Indians will have good memories here of reaching the finals in the 2003 World Cup and winning The inaugural T20 wWorld Cup.

Sachin Tendulkar batted like the true maestro he is to take his side to a match winning score scoring a half century in the process and also winning the Man of the Match award.. Matt Hayden playing a very fluid innings…. KP showing he can bat under any kind of pressure…. Shane Warne bowling like only he can bowl. No wonder he’s the best spinner the world has seen till date (no offence meant to Murali)….Anil Kumble taking a fiver…. And above all Rahul “The Wall” Dravid scoring freely and receiving the MOM for his efforts. I am a die hard fan of Dravid and for me it was heartening to see him play like he did…. So it showed that T20 is not just a game for the youngsters but also the people from Old School can play it….. The SENIORS made a statement today in a most emphatic way…. One can only hope that Sourav n VVS can rise to the occasion just like the others…..

All the teams this time seem to be balanced and the winner will be the team which played better cricket in those 3 and ½ hours…. It’s very difficult to say who will win this time around just like last time when the Rajasthan Royals came out of nowhere to win Season 1…. So be ready to see some fireworks in the coming 39 days…. The CARNIVAL is back and back with a BANG!!

Moving on to F1 racing….. What the hell happened to Ferrari and Mclaren? Especially Ferrari… No points in 2 races…. But you can’t take the credit away from Brawnn Racing and their drivers Jenson Button and Rubins Barichello …. Jenson Button has driven his car like a true champion…. Who would have predicted such a thing??

The EPL is also heating up…. Liverpool has come within a point of Manchester United but I believe Man U are going to win it anyways..

It has to be one of the best line ups for the semi-finals for the Champions League in a long long time…. Chelsea v/s Barca and The Gunners going against the Red Devils…. Hope the best team wins…. Hope its Man U (keeping my fingers crossed)….

What a 2nd leg match between Chelsea and Liverpool at the Bridge….a 8 goal thriller…. Who would have thought? My sympathies go out to Ari…. Sorry buddy…. Seriously I was supporting Liverpool….

And No. 7 for Man U showed why he is the best player in the world right now…. Scoring a goal from 35 yards out when his team really needed it…. In the process Man U became the 1st British club to win against Porto in Porto….

The FA cup semi-final between Chelsea and Arsenal was also really good. Chelsea winning 2-1…. Congrats Manan …. Hopefully Man U will beat Everton tomorrow and it will be Man u against Chelsea in the FA cup finals….

So much is going on in the world of sports right now…. I just had to write about it…. I know the girls won’t like it but what can I do? Sports is the most happening thing right now and not Roadies or Splitsvilla or any other idiotic show……

P.S : I am writing this on the 18th of April…. Also Roger Federer got married. Hope his marriage brings him luck but he lost in the 3rd round of a clay court tournament ……….

The Heartbreak Season

There’s something about January which I can’t get. It is the month in which I have seen the most number of heartbreaks taking place….maybe it’s the chill in the weather….maybe something else. In the last week I came to know about the breakup of two of my very close friends….both of them really worshipped their respective gfs but it didn’t work out. I don’t know what exactly went wrong but guys cheer up……it maybe the best thing that could have happened to you in a long time…..just kidding. I know that it hurts badly and it’s not easy to move on but we all have to move on……so guys and gals of the world here are some tips which might help you out when you need a move on:

1) Get “Total” Closure: I heard about total closure for the first time while watching “FRIENDS”. It basically means stop talking to that person…..destroy all the things that are in someway remind you of the person who broke your heart. Ask your friends not to mention that person in front of you etc etc on the same lines. If you achieve this feat you will be able to move on much easily.

2) Get the “ANGER” out of the way asap: When someone breaks your heart the first feeling is of dejection which soon becomes anger…..shout at that person when he/she gives you a call the next time….tell them where they can go and stuff. Once you let it out its feels very light inside…..but there maybe side-effects. You may feel that you were excessively rude to that person but let that not affect you. And it’s better if you do that asap.

3) Paint the town RED: You won’t be in the mood to party after such a mess but then also go out with your best buds. Go partying, bowling, drinking whatever helps you out to cheer up….give your friends all the time which you couldn’t when you were going out. Plan a trip…..get out of the setting which you have being living in.

4) Say “NO” to all mushy things: Say no to everything which is romantic for some time. No romantic movies, no romantic novels nothing. Stay away from mushy things and you will be just fine.

5) Listen to the right kind of “MUSIC”: Do not listen to Bryan Adams or any boy bands for that matter……no “please forgive me” or “everything I do”. Listen to some good old rock music or alternate rock. My personal favorites are “Die Die, My Darling” by Mettalica and “She Fu**ing hates me” by Puddle of Mudd.

6) Don’t live in “FALSE” hope: don’t live in false hope….don’t have the notion that the other person will come back to you. Even if it happens it happens rarely….but who’s to say that person won’t do the same thing all over again. So be very careful when that person comes back to you asking you to take them back….take your time and make your decision….but whatever happens don’t give yourself false hope.

7) Get a good “SOUNDBOARD”: Soundboard refers to a person who will listen to you when you pour your heart out about all the things which went wrong….but under no condition become “whinny” because even the best Soundboard has its limits.

Being single is fun……but people will argue that being “committed” is also not bad. I am not going to take a call on that. I have seen both sides of the coin but still I can ‘t decide. If you have just become single life has given you a chance to again enjoy all the delights of the world. And if you are committed keep your head high because you got something going for you.

The committed guys should just say “Anything for you, Ma’am” so that they may have to never follow any of the above mentioned ridiculous tips about how to move on. It’s up to you how to move on and no one can help you out until you yourself want to move on…..
P.S: There was heartbreak for Roger Federer also in the Australian Open final. Nadal again beat him and Fedex cried. I just hope Federer can put this behind him and beat Nadal in the upcoming Grand Slams. Also there was heartbreak for “CHELSEA” fans (I am specifically referring to Alok and Manan here)……Guys the truth is “CHELSEA SUCKS” so we can’t really count that one as a heartbreak.

BATCH 3

On 18th July ’08, I met few people who had joined Citi Technology Services (will be WIPRO in some time) with me. And something just clicked. Maybe all of us had a horrible engineering experience (for me certainly). So we became a group called “BATCH 3”. Now let me introduce “BATCH 3” in alphabetical order:

Arvind Bhaskaran: The dude from New Jersey. How he does up down from Nerul everyday is beyond me. He has some distributive plans about everything. He has an amazing sense of giving a “SHOT”. He is pretty decent at bowling but calls beer cough syrup. DUDE IT”S BEER NOT COUGH SYRUP!!

Abhishek Kalapatapu: Abhi 1st of all, I am sorry for the spelling if it’s wrong. Now this guy is one of the “Committed” committed ones. He’s really faithful to his girlfriend. He never ever looks at other girls………..NOT. He appreciates beauty. And he’s as lazy as a Libran can be.

Anupam Upadhyay: Now he’s someone who is a big MAN U fan. He has a pretty good sense of giving a “SHOT” just like Arvind. He’s a veggie which came as a big surprise for me because he doesn’t look like one. He’s an awesome table tennis player.

Furhad Jidda: Now this guy can turn pink on the drop of a hat. And really pink at that. He’s also one of the “Committed” committed ones. He’s one of the guys who you want in your corner just because he will be there for you no matter what. Jidda only one advice for you “take it easy man!!”

Karan Agarwal: This guy has already left CTS and gone to Lucknow but he still remains one of the most important people of BATCH 3. He was my best bud in CTS. This is in remembrance of all the awesome BnB (Bowling and Beer) combos, the Annual Day, The Daman Trip. He was one guy who was always ready for anything you said. Dude missing you here…….

Liana Deboo: She wasn’t there in that conference room on 18th July. She joined a bit late but was an awesome addition to BATCH 3. She has an awesome sense of humour, not “shot” but humour. Although she is capable of giving “SHOTS”. Just sit with her in an Autorick and you will come to know that. She has played squash at the national level or so she says (I believe you on that Boo).

Nipun Barua: The “ROCKSTAR” of BATCH 3. He’s an awesome guitarist. He’s also “Committed” committed. Though he now works from Logitech but traveling from Napean Sea Road with him was always fun. There’s never a dull moment when he’s around.

Nisha Patel: The girl who wasn’t lucky with the allocation of teams. She has a fetish for chocolates (though she didn’t eat the swiss chocolates which I got, I am still hurt about it by the way). She has got a temper on her. When you see her you won’t think that she might have such a temper but if you don’t believe me ask Manan!!

Mark Fernandes: This guy is 6’2”. So whenever you talk to him you talk always looking up to him. Though he didn’t join with BATCH 3 but he seamlessly fitted in the group. He’s a good carom player and has a very goofy sense of humour. He has got a lot of cousins with whom he is often on the phone with.

Manan Shah: I really don’t know what to write about him. He’s the KING of SHOTS. He’s into body building so I call him “builder”. On the carom board first there’s GOD, then there’s MANAN. He can piss off anyone. And he can easily make it to a rugby team as he has an awesome shoulder block (believe me when I say that!!).

Santosh Sai Venkat: The “desperado” of the group. He’s a guy who is good at all the sports be it cricket, football, badminton, or TT. You name it and this guy plays it and plays it well. He has like 6 meals a day. He’s seriously goofy. And he can’t keep his trap shut once he starts.

And then there’s me. What to write about myself apart from I am like the guy next door.

And that’s what I call BATCH 3!!

MY TEAM

In CTS I work for the team called “GNCC CHANGE APPROVAL”. Basically we are a team of 6 people. So let me introduce you to the various team members:

Nimisha: She’s the most hard working person I have ever seen in my life. She comes at 7 in the morning and if there’s work she leaves at 7 in the evening. I just hope I can be half as hard working as her. She’s really helpful.

Shweta: I don’t know if she remembers or not but she was the one who was giving me clues in the treasure hunt organized on 27th june and I constantly called her “ma’am” and she went “don’t call me that. My name’s Shweta” it was just hilarious. She’s also really helpful.

Pooja: She is the gossipmonger of the team. She always has the latest titbits about anything happening with any bollywood personality. She can read hands very accurately. She’s an awesome singer and hopefully a good actress (haven’t seen her acting yet). She’s really sweet.

Atul: Atul sits in Logitech, so I don’t know him that well.

Sumith: He’s the latest addition to the team. A very nice guy who does his work seriously.

Rahul: Rahul is our Team Lead. He’s the perfect TL who let’s you work in whatever fashion you want to work without interferrring.

And then there’s me. I don’t want to write anything about me because I am tryin to be modest these days.

I really like my team. The team dynamics is really good. Everyone is there for each other. The work is taken care of. I have always been a team player and I consider myself honored to be working for such a wonderful team.

P.S: This post of my blog has been written under immense pressure applied by Ms. Pooja. So here it is……..enjoy!!

An Awesome Year That was 2K8

Well the world finally said goodbye to 2008. and what an year it was 4 me personally. It all started with a party on a yatch to bring in 2008. n it ended in sports bar. truely an year to remember for me. The 1st 6 months flew by in enginnering. Going to college, spending tym in YMCA doing nothin actually, copyin assignments, watching IPL, the hostel day, d farewell. All in all an awesome 1st half of the year.

The highlight of this part of year has to be the hostel day which i hosted. It was so much fun. And finally after 4 long years the day had come for which I had waited since i stepped inside RAIT....the FAREWELL. I don't remember the date but it was a day when everyone wrote something nice abt me on the shirt which i had got especially for dat!! n endin d nite drinkin beer in d lawn opposite RAIT.....it was a nite 2 remember. Also something to remember were the 2 IPL matches i saw. 1 of them was at DY PATIL stadium(our college's backyard) for which i had VIP passes. It was 1 hell of an experience. And the other was at Wankhedere. It was a match between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders. It was the only tym when i heard crowd booing Shahrukh Khan. I was 1 of d people who was booing him.

And den the last semester exms came....and my 1st thoughts were dis is it......i vl never have 2 sit 4 dese again. YAY!! I m goin 2 njoy after the last exm gets over.... I vl do that, I vl do this.....n guess what, i fell sick be4 d last exm n ws on antibiotics 4 nearly a week after the exms got over..All the plans goin out of the window. But after i got well i went bck home n had a hell of a tym. Nearly all my school frens were bck home so njoyed the holidays before joinin work.

Now people told me that working is really tiresome, crappy blah blah blah blah n so on n so forth. So I was pretty apprehensive. But the training period was pure fun. I meet many nice people in that conference room and became very good frens with dem (with a few exceptions). And after dat when I finally started wrking I got an amazing team! So i guess i was pretty lucky in dese matters. In the last 6 months of the year i had so much fun. Going 4 muvees, Bowling, or celebrating the b'days. I am never gonna forget the CTS Annual Day. Though I don't remember much, but then also it was one of the highlights of the year. Then dere was the Russel Peters show 4 which i went......it was really cool!

But the best part of the last 6 months of the year was the Daman trip! It was a weekend on which i played nearly all the sports dere r 2 play. It was truly a memorable trip!

And in d end i went bck home and my Dad gifted me something which every kid wants his dad 2 gift him : A CAR!!!!!So now officially i am a proud owner of a Matiz (not in production anymore bt who cares?!)

So i must say 2008 was one of the better years of my life. Hope 2009 is even better.

I am goin 2 upgrade SUYASHNIKHIL ver. 2K8 to SUYASHNIKHIL ver. 2k9. It vl have the following features :
1) More sarcasm
2) More funny than before (if that's possible)
3) A Guitarist
4) Going 2 d GYM regurlarly
5) Try 2 save some money
6) Studying seriously for CAT '09
7) No to Yashraj movies no matter what
8) Keep updating my dear blog regurlarly
9) Try to follow my own advice more regurlarly.
And i leave it 2 u guys 2 suggest anymore upgrades......which if found necessary might be later on incorporated in SUYASHNIKHIL ver. 2k9.

And i almost forgot......it was a gr8 yr in sports 4 India. We finally showed the Aussies their standing. And MANCHESTER UNITED- the greatest club of d world, Champions of England, Champions of Europe, Champions of WORLD. There's nothin left 2 conquer 4 the Red Devils. Also v had d best showing in olympics ever. Vishwanathan Anand became d world champ. Aussies were torn apart by South Africa. Finally!!!!!

dat does it, i suppose!! i vl update d blog soon......(HOPEFULLY)!!!!
