BATCH 3

On 18th July ’08, I met few people who had joined Citi Technology Services (will be WIPRO in some time) with me. And something just clicked. Maybe all of us had a horrible engineering experience (for me certainly). So we became a group called “BATCH 3”. Now let me introduce “BATCH 3” in alphabetical order:

Arvind Bhaskaran: The dude from New Jersey. How he does up down from Nerul everyday is beyond me. He has some distributive plans about everything. He has an amazing sense of giving a “SHOT”. He is pretty decent at bowling but calls beer cough syrup. DUDE IT”S BEER NOT COUGH SYRUP!!

Abhishek Kalapatapu: Abhi 1st of all, I am sorry for the spelling if it’s wrong. Now this guy is one of the “Committed” committed ones. He’s really faithful to his girlfriend. He never ever looks at other girls………..NOT. He appreciates beauty. And he’s as lazy as a Libran can be.

Anupam Upadhyay: Now he’s someone who is a big MAN U fan. He has a pretty good sense of giving a “SHOT” just like Arvind. He’s a veggie which came as a big surprise for me because he doesn’t look like one. He’s an awesome table tennis player.

Furhad Jidda: Now this guy can turn pink on the drop of a hat. And really pink at that. He’s also one of the “Committed” committed ones. He’s one of the guys who you want in your corner just because he will be there for you no matter what. Jidda only one advice for you “take it easy man!!”

Karan Agarwal: This guy has already left CTS and gone to Lucknow but he still remains one of the most important people of BATCH 3. He was my best bud in CTS. This is in remembrance of all the awesome BnB (Bowling and Beer) combos, the Annual Day, The Daman Trip. He was one guy who was always ready for anything you said. Dude missing you here…….

Liana Deboo: She wasn’t there in that conference room on 18th July. She joined a bit late but was an awesome addition to BATCH 3. She has an awesome sense of humour, not “shot” but humour. Although she is capable of giving “SHOTS”. Just sit with her in an Autorick and you will come to know that. She has played squash at the national level or so she says (I believe you on that Boo).

Nipun Barua: The “ROCKSTAR” of BATCH 3. He’s an awesome guitarist. He’s also “Committed” committed. Though he now works from Logitech but traveling from Napean Sea Road with him was always fun. There’s never a dull moment when he’s around.

Nisha Patel: The girl who wasn’t lucky with the allocation of teams. She has a fetish for chocolates (though she didn’t eat the swiss chocolates which I got, I am still hurt about it by the way). She has got a temper on her. When you see her you won’t think that she might have such a temper but if you don’t believe me ask Manan!!

Mark Fernandes: This guy is 6’2”. So whenever you talk to him you talk always looking up to him. Though he didn’t join with BATCH 3 but he seamlessly fitted in the group. He’s a good carom player and has a very goofy sense of humour. He has got a lot of cousins with whom he is often on the phone with.

Manan Shah: I really don’t know what to write about him. He’s the KING of SHOTS. He’s into body building so I call him “builder”. On the carom board first there’s GOD, then there’s MANAN. He can piss off anyone. And he can easily make it to a rugby team as he has an awesome shoulder block (believe me when I say that!!).

Santosh Sai Venkat: The “desperado” of the group. He’s a guy who is good at all the sports be it cricket, football, badminton, or TT. You name it and this guy plays it and plays it well. He has like 6 meals a day. He’s seriously goofy. And he can’t keep his trap shut once he starts.

And then there’s me. What to write about myself apart from I am like the guy next door.

And that’s what I call BATCH 3!!

MY TEAM

In CTS I work for the team called “GNCC CHANGE APPROVAL”. Basically we are a team of 6 people. So let me introduce you to the various team members:

Nimisha: She’s the most hard working person I have ever seen in my life. She comes at 7 in the morning and if there’s work she leaves at 7 in the evening. I just hope I can be half as hard working as her. She’s really helpful.

Shweta: I don’t know if she remembers or not but she was the one who was giving me clues in the treasure hunt organized on 27th june and I constantly called her “ma’am” and she went “don’t call me that. My name’s Shweta” it was just hilarious. She’s also really helpful.

Pooja: She is the gossipmonger of the team. She always has the latest titbits about anything happening with any bollywood personality. She can read hands very accurately. She’s an awesome singer and hopefully a good actress (haven’t seen her acting yet). She’s really sweet.

Atul: Atul sits in Logitech, so I don’t know him that well.

Sumith: He’s the latest addition to the team. A very nice guy who does his work seriously.

Rahul: Rahul is our Team Lead. He’s the perfect TL who let’s you work in whatever fashion you want to work without interferrring.

And then there’s me. I don’t want to write anything about me because I am tryin to be modest these days.

I really like my team. The team dynamics is really good. Everyone is there for each other. The work is taken care of. I have always been a team player and I consider myself honored to be working for such a wonderful team.

P.S: This post of my blog has been written under immense pressure applied by Ms. Pooja. So here it is……..enjoy!!

An Awesome Year That was 2K8

Well the world finally said goodbye to 2008. and what an year it was 4 me personally. It all started with a party on a yatch to bring in 2008. n it ended in sports bar. truely an year to remember for me. The 1st 6 months flew by in enginnering. Going to college, spending tym in YMCA doing nothin actually, copyin assignments, watching IPL, the hostel day, d farewell. All in all an awesome 1st half of the year.

The highlight of this part of year has to be the hostel day which i hosted. It was so much fun. And finally after 4 long years the day had come for which I had waited since i stepped inside RAIT....the FAREWELL. I don't remember the date but it was a day when everyone wrote something nice abt me on the shirt which i had got especially for dat!! n endin d nite drinkin beer in d lawn opposite RAIT.....it was a nite 2 remember. Also something to remember were the 2 IPL matches i saw. 1 of them was at DY PATIL stadium(our college's backyard) for which i had VIP passes. It was 1 hell of an experience. And the other was at Wankhedere. It was a match between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders. It was the only tym when i heard crowd booing Shahrukh Khan. I was 1 of d people who was booing him.

And den the last semester exms came....and my 1st thoughts were dis is it......i vl never have 2 sit 4 dese again. YAY!! I m goin 2 njoy after the last exm gets over.... I vl do that, I vl do this.....n guess what, i fell sick be4 d last exm n ws on antibiotics 4 nearly a week after the exms got over..All the plans goin out of the window. But after i got well i went bck home n had a hell of a tym. Nearly all my school frens were bck home so njoyed the holidays before joinin work.

Now people told me that working is really tiresome, crappy blah blah blah blah n so on n so forth. So I was pretty apprehensive. But the training period was pure fun. I meet many nice people in that conference room and became very good frens with dem (with a few exceptions). And after dat when I finally started wrking I got an amazing team! So i guess i was pretty lucky in dese matters. In the last 6 months of the year i had so much fun. Going 4 muvees, Bowling, or celebrating the b'days. I am never gonna forget the CTS Annual Day. Though I don't remember much, but then also it was one of the highlights of the year. Then dere was the Russel Peters show 4 which i went......it was really cool!

But the best part of the last 6 months of the year was the Daman trip! It was a weekend on which i played nearly all the sports dere r 2 play. It was truly a memorable trip!

And in d end i went bck home and my Dad gifted me something which every kid wants his dad 2 gift him : A CAR!!!!!So now officially i am a proud owner of a Matiz (not in production anymore bt who cares?!)

So i must say 2008 was one of the better years of my life. Hope 2009 is even better.

I am goin 2 upgrade SUYASHNIKHIL ver. 2K8 to SUYASHNIKHIL ver. 2k9. It vl have the following features :

9) Try to follow my own advice more regurlarly.
And i leave it 2 u guys 2 suggest anymore upgrades......which if found necessary might be later on incorporated in SUYASHNIKHIL ver. 2k9.

And i almost forgot......it was a gr8 yr in sports 4 India. We finally showed the Aussies their standing. And MANCHESTER UNITED- the greatest club of d world, Champions of England, Champions of Europe, Champions of WORLD. There's nothin left 2 conquer 4 the Red Devils. Also v had d best showing in olympics ever. Vishwanathan Anand became d world champ. Aussies were torn apart by South Africa. Finally!!!!!

dat does it, i suppose!! i vl update d blog soon......(HOPEFULLY)!!!!
